Velcro looks worse, its gunna be wrapped again with a lizard skin I think the tape is there to make sure the lizard skin doesn't slide around. As for the guide, its lined up perfect, theres interference with the link between the chainstay and seat stay. So we split the difference

That's what I currently use. Easy to mold and shape on weld beads and crevices. I'll try the thicker (albeit slightly heavier) 2229 tape. Might be a better sound damper though (chain slaps, etc).
